Over the past year I've taken Broadcast one and two, and have learned a ton of new filming skills and techniques. To cap off the end of the school year, my teacher, Mr. Goble, asked the class to use all that we had learned to tell a story about ourselves in just six shots. Based on the storytelling method created by Ernest Hemingway of telling a story with six words, we had to use six distinct shots, each one different from the others, showcasing that we understood the rules of film. Despite being unsure of what to do at first, I decided to tell a story about my racial ethnicity. Coming from a Wazian family, (part white and part asian) I celebrate both cultures, and wanted to show how the two sides relate. You can check out the video below.
I've had a great time in Broadcast for the past year, and have gained a lot of knowledge in terms of editing and using camera and equipment. I hope to use these skills in the future for whatever projects I might make, and know that I will continue to create and film. Have a good summer!
